Getting Started with your Plug-In Profit Site

Before you get started working on promoting your Plug-In Profit site there are a few things that you need to do.

(1) Set your Expectations - have a look at this blog post -Three things to consider before getting started with Plug-In Profits

(2) Check your site - spend some time having a look at your new site and familiarising yourself with it. Follow all the links on your site to see where they go. Read some of the articles. Check that your affiliate IDs for Empowerism, SFI, Traffic Swarm, Success University and Internet Warriors are all correct - do they match your IDs?

(4) Sign up for your own newsletter via the opt-in box on your website to make sure that it's working and to see what it's like for yourself.

(5) Register with the Plug-In Profit (PIPs) Support Forum which is part of the Warrior Forum - If you ever have any questions about your Plug-In Profit site this is the first place to go. Make it your priority to register with this forum and make a post to introduce yourself.

This forum is full of helpful and friendly PIPs owners and is also the quickest way to get any question answered. You can also use the search facility to search for the answers to any questions you may have. If you have a question - the chances are that someone else has had exactly the same question in the past.

(6) Plug-In Profits Training - check your email to see if you have received a Plug-In Profits training welcome email from me. If you are in my downline I will send you an email to see if you would like to receive some training from me. If you'd like to receive this training all you need to do is click on the confirmation link in the message. Once you've done this you will receive a training message approximately once per week. If you are not personally sponsored by me, you are still welcome to sign up for this training, but occassionally I may make special offers that are only valid for members of my downline.

Once you have done all of the above, you need a plan of action. I'm going to make some suggestions below. You don't need to do all of these things - remember, they are just suggestions, things that have worked for me in the past. There is no set timescale for this plan because most of the items on it can be worked on continuously.

Almost all of the items in the list below are 100% FREE! If they are not, I have stated this clearly and put a ($) sign in the headline...

(1) Stone's 30 Days To success Training - You can access Stone's training by logging into the Plug-In Profit Affiliate Center Although this training is called "30 Days to Success, this doesn't mean that you have to finish this within 30 days, nor does it mean that you have to do a single day of training within one day.

Take as long as you need for each day, Spread it over a week if you prefer. Another important thing to note is that this is just a guide. You do not need to do everything in the guide.

Stone recommends various upgrades and advertising methods that cost money. Please remember the budget that you hopefully set before you started this. Do not go over the budget! You can always come back and repeat training later on when you are making money and your budget has increased! In fact, I actually recommend going for the first month without buying anything in this guide. This will give you time to become acquainted with everything first.

In particular I do not recommend joining the PIPS Co-op (see my review here). I also do not recommend Adminder Guaranteed Visitors as I have only seen bad feedback about these.

(2) Increase the links back to your Site - when you search for something in Google, Yahoo or MSN you'll probably get thousands or millions of results returned to you. How do the search engines determine which sites are on the first page? One of the most important factors in ranking is the number of quality links that you have pointing back to your site (backlinks). Read this short article to find out about the benefits of exchanging links. You can also increase the number of backlinks by Writing and Submitting Articles and posting on forums (see below).

(3) Post on Forums Regularly - as well as the Warrior forum, there are lots of other good internet marketing forums. Many of them allow signatures which you can use to promote the Plug-In Profit Site. If you set yourself a goal e.g. make 5 posts per week at 5 different forums and use your posts to ask sensible questions, make informative comments or help others then this will be to your advantage.

As well as helping you get your name known, you'll increase your backlinks, promote your site and hopefully learn something useful. Make sure that you read the rules of each forum before you post and do not spam. Everybody hates spam and doing this will not help you.

(4) Get free traffic from Traffic Exchanges - If you're not sure what a traffic exchange is you can read this article for an Introduction to Traffic Exchanges.

Traffic exchanges don't cost anything to use, but they are not as effective is many other methods of internet marketing. The reason for this is that most people using them are concentrating on building up credits, not signing up for new offers. For this reason it is best to advertise a Splash page rather than your website home page or the Plug-In Profit sales page.

(5) Use Pay per Click Advertising ($)- this one does cost a little money, but the good thing is, you can set a monthly budget and only spend up to that amount. (6) Co-ops ($) - a co-op is something that you may want to venture into either to supplement your own advertising or if you want to have a hands off approach. Please make sure you research a co-op before signing up to it. Look for testimonials from happy customers, search for feedback about it on the forum, ensure that you understand how much the co-op is and what you are getting for it - is it guaranteed signups or just a share of advertising? One co-op I am happy to recommend is Jeff Casmer's SFI Co-op.

Now for some more advanced options...

(7) Research your Keywords - The number of free visitors that you get per day to your site is dependent on the keywords that you optimize your site for. Optimize your site for an unpopular set of keywords and you will have no chance of your site being found by search engine users. Optimize your site for a really popular and competitive set of keywords and you'll have a lot of hard work ahead of you to get your site to the #1 position. (8) Learn about how Search Engines Work - if you want to make it to the top of the Search engines you'll need to read a bit about how they work and make some small changes to your site.

(9) Add content to your Site - adding fresh content to your site regularly will help your search engine rankings and encourage your visitors to stay for longer and return to your site in the future. One way to add content to your site is to open a free account with Blogger and start a blog like this one. You can host the blog on your site in the same way as I have hosted my Homebiz Blog.
