Results for December

I have to say, I've been a very lazy blogger recently. I've not updated this blog since November. I'm going to try and make up for that in the coming months and try to blog at least once a week.

I actually did almost no home business work over the month of December. I was away on business for a while (with my day job), then I managed to get ill and spent a few days in bed with a sore throat and a cold. Then everything seemed to get very hectic and all of a sudden it was Christmas and I decided to do no home business work apart from answer emails over the Christmas holidays. So I more or less spent a month doing no promotion of Plug-In Profits or any of my other websites.

Am I making excuses for not blogging? No. I'm just going to prove the point that you can make money while you sleep, by telling you my results for December.

Host4Profit Signups - 11

SFI Signups - 15
IMC Signups - 13 + a $50 commission for selling a copy of the Ebay Secrets Course

This gave me an instant $400 (11x$10 for Host4profit, 12x$20 for Empowerism and $50 for my IMC sale). I'll also get $194 residual monthly income added on to my total, so that's an extra $194 every month (as long as people remain a member). This doesn't include extra income I receive from SFI for upgrades.

So, I'm pretty happy with that. It's been quite a good month, especially considering that I did nothing!

So how did I get these signups?

here's where they came from:

* Some came from subscribers to my ezine (the free ezine provided by Stone when you signup for a Plug-In Profit Site). I have a signup box on my home page Internet business Ideas. This is my original Plug-In Profits site, although it has changed a lot over the last year.

* Some came from visitors who had found my website via search engines. I optimized my site for the keywords "internet business ideas" and "how to start an internet business" + various other keywords for my sub pages. I'm usually on page 1 of Google for both of these keywords. Read this to learn about choosing keywords for your own site. Choose something that has a good number of searches per day, but isn't too competitive (unless you have an army of people working for you) and start building up links to your site by Writing articles and Reciprocal Linking.

* Some came from my pay per click advertising. I've been advertising mainly on Google Adwords, Yahoo and Kanoodle using a selection of different keywords. I always make sure that I advertise The Plug-In Profits Sales Page and not My home page as this converts much much better. I also use this Plug-in Profit Site special Offer page when I am using keywords that people use when they already know about PIPs. This adds a little extra to the offer and allows me to stand out from my competitiors. * Some people emailed me because they had come across my forum posts. Posting in forums can help you to build up a good reputation. People who are interested in an opportunity may read your posts on a forum and decide to contact you to find out more.

So, as I said, I did nothing in December apart from answer emails. This is the only thing that I feel is important to do if you are taking some time off. If you don't to this you have the potential to lose signups. I had put in lots of work over 2005 to optimise my sites, get links back by writing articles and linking to other people and I already had campaigns set up on Google, Yahoo and Kanoodle so I was able to forget about this and make money while I over indulged in Christmas food and drink, had a 3 day break in Prague, shopped in the January sales and caught up on lots of sleeping!
