Tips for Getting Started with SFI

If you've just joined SFI (Strong Future International) but don't have a clue on where to begin and how to start making money from SFI, I'd like to help you out.

I've put together a list of tips and ideas for getting started with SFI.

First you need to familiarise yourself with SFI. If you are going to be successful and make money with SFI you need to have a good understanding of how it works. Here are a few suggestions:

(1) If you aren't sure what SFI is you can find out by reading my previous post - A Review of SFI

(2) Login to the SFI Affiliate Center using your SFI ID and password that you received when you signed up. Click on the Training link and then click on "Getting Started Training". This will teach you the basics of SFI and help you to get started.

(3) Go through SFI's Getting Started Checklist.

(4) Fill in your Affiliate Profile. This will help your sponsor to assist you if you need help and it will also provide you with some focus.

(5) Sign up for my SFI Training by email

(6) Once you've done all of the above you should have a fairly good idea about what SFI is about. You'll find lots of other free training in the training section of the SFI site including FAQs, Eye Earn Training, Expert Reports, Affiliate Tips and the Internet Income course.Try and set aside some time each week to read some of this training too.

If there's anything that you don't understand or you have questions on anything related to SFI you can either:

(1) Contact your Sponsor by email - to do this click on the "Contact Us" link on the menu on the left of the SFI affiliate center. If I am your sponsor you can contact me here

(2) Ask your question on the SFI DBoard - this is a discussion board frequented by lots of SFI members, both new and experienced. Gerry Carson, the owner of SFI also makes frequent posts on the board. You can ask questions here and get lots of tips and ideas for becoming successful in SFI

Here are a few ways that you can promote and make money from SFI:

(1) Join a co-op - If you don't fancy taking on any promotion yourself or you just want to boost your own advertising you may want to consider joining a co-op. My friend Jeff Casmer runs an excellent SFI co-op. You can find out more about Jeff's SFI co-op here.

(2) Advertise SFI using Free Traffic Exchanges - Traffic exchanges are a good simple way to start recruiting new affiliates to SFI, BUT only if they are used in the correct way. Everyone who surfs traffic exchanges does so for one reason only - to build up credits. They don't really want to stop and spend extra time reading your page. If you want to catch someone's attention using Traffic Exchanges you need to use short snappy spash pages or lead capture pages. You can find out about the Top Traffic Exchanges here and start by advertising some of your SFI gateway pages + a few of your own splash pages if you want to get creative. (3) Use Pay Per Click to advertise SFI - When you search in Google you will see sponsored links down the right hand side of the page. If you click on one of the adverts the advertiser has to pay Google for that click. Google allows anyone to open an account and get their ads shown for as little as 5 cents per click. This is a great way to get signups for SFI. If you are going to use Pay Per Click advertising I would strongly advise signing up for Perry Marshall's free Google Adwords Course first. (4) Network in Forums - there are hundreds of forums and groups on the internet on the topic of home business and internet marketing. Many of these forums allow you to have a signature with a link or links to your recommended business opportunities. If you set yourself a goal e.g. make 5 posts per week at 5 different forums and use your posts to ask sensible questions, make informative comments or help others then you will find that other people on the forum visit the links in your signature and perhaps sign up for one of the opportunities that you are advertising! Just be careful to read the rules of the forum and do not blatantly advertise as this will have a very negative affect.

(5) Write Articles - This is probably the most powerful form of internet marketing that I know of. Write an article of around 500 words related to home business or internet marketing. Then add a resource box with a little bit about yourself and an invitation to join SFI. In the resource box you can put the URL of your own website (if you have one) and/or the URL of your SFI signup page. If you then submit your article to article directories and ezine publishers you will see huge benefits. As an example, go to Google and type in "How to start a Blog and Make Money Online" (with the quotes). Google will return a few hundred results. Click some of the results and you will see one of my articles with my resource box and a link to my website. Each time I write and submit an article I get a surge of traffic to my site and my search engine ranking increases as a result of all the new links to my website. (5) Get your own Website - If you really want to take things to the next level you could get your own website. If you know nothing about websites I highly recommend signing up for a Plugin Profit Site. You can learn more about this by reading some of the other posts in this Blog.
