One of the best way to get people returning to your website again and again is to capture their email address (with their permission of course) and send them some useful and interesting email follow ups. In each email you send you can have a link to your site or your latest recommendation or special offer and this will help to increase both your return visitors and hopefully your sales.
Fortunately if you have a Plug-In Profit Site you'll get an opt in box on your main index page and a series of follow up letters lasting 400 days.
Although it is possible to buy double opt in leads or join free programs to help build your list (see my List building tips page for more details), I still believe that the best type of leads are those that you generate yourself from visitors to your site.
A month ago I started making some changes and have since seen the number of daily subscribers to my ezine quadriple!
Here are the changes that I think have been responsible for this:
(1) I added a fly in opt in box to my index page Internet Business Ideas. Most of my visitors sign up through this box compared to the box on the page itself
(2) I added a Privacy policy to my index page. It's important for people to know that you are not planning on selling their email address!
(3) I created a lead capture page with 3 "Bribes" on it - Internet Home Business Newsletter. I just used my Dotcomology book along with a couple of books that I have resale rights for. I've had success with this both from visitors on my site and from advertising it for free in Traffic Exchanges.
(4) I added my opt in box to various key pages on my site. Note - I only have a fly in box on my main page as having this on numerous pages on my site would make navigation more difficult for visitors.
That's about it really! Just a few simple changes have made a massive difference to the number of signups I am receiving.
If you'd like your own lead capture page but don't have the technical know how to create one, take a look at my Lead Capture Page Service.
