Getting Started with Success University

If you don't know what Success University is have a read of my post Success University and the Plug-In Profit Site.

I'd like to give you some tips and suggestions for getting started with Success University. It's very easy to become overwhelmed when you start a new program, especially if you are new to internet marketing or if you are trying to promote multiple programs at the same time. Don't despair - what you need is an action plan. Have a look at my getting started list below and commit yourself to working your way through this list. If there is something in the list that you don't want to do right now just go on to the next item. You can always come back to the item you missed in the future.

(1) Login to the Success University Back Office - first of all you should login to the Success University back office. Have a look around and familiarize yourself with the members area. Look at all the menus at the top of the screen and visit each of the pages on the site. Click on the Business Office->My Account->Personal Info menu and check that all your personal details are correct.

(2) Get help - Since you are new to Success University you are bound to have lots of questions when you start out. I would recommend contacting your sponsor to let him or her know a little bit about you. Hopefully they will be able to help with any questions you have and advise you on promotional tips. To find out who your sponsor is login to Success University and click on the Business Office-> Geneology->My Upline.

(3) Learn about Success University - If you are going to promote a program and persuade others to join you, you need to understand as much as possible about the program. If you don't understand Success University how are you going to persuade others to join you? Start off by logging in and listening to the training calls on the main page.

Next, I recommend working your way through the following material over the next few months to make sure that you understand Success University:

- Success University Bootcamp - when you join Success University you will be sent the Bootcamp training emails. This is a 14 day training series designed to familiarise you with Success University and get you on the right track. If you haven't received the emails (or you have deleted them :-) login to Success University and click on Learning Center-> SU Bootcamp to read the training.
- Jim Rohn Success Plan - This is a 25 part weekly email training series which will teach you how to become successful with Success University and in life. You can also access these emails by clicking on Learning Center-> Jim Rohn Success Plan while you are logged into Success University.
- Compenation Plan - It also makes sense to familiarise yourself with Success University's powerful compensation plan. On the Success University site you'll find a PDF document explaining the different kinds of commission and an audio recording by Trisha Smith, one of Success University's top earners. I'd recommend listening to the audio call recording to get a good understanding of the compensation plan.

- Getting Started Checklist - There is a useful getting started checklist in the learning center. This also has a link to the recorded version of the Saturday fast start training call which you can listen to if you are unable to make the Saturday call.

(4) Add Success Univerisity to your website or blog - If you have your own website or blog you should update this with some information about Success University. This could be a link, a banner, a few paragraphs of information, an article or preferably a combination of these. You can get banners from the Resources->Marketing section of the Success University website. If you don't have a website my personal recommendation is the Plug-In Profit Site. If you'd like a free blog you can create on on Blogger.

(5) Choose a Success University Page to advertise - There are various Success University pages that you can advertise. These include the http://suzannem.successuniversity.com/slim page and the http://suzannem.successuniversity.com page (replace suzannem with your Success University ID). Alternatively you may want to construct your own splash page. Here is an example of one of my Success University Splash Pages. Try to get as much exposure as possible for these pages. See below for some ideas.

(6) Free Advertising - there are numerous methods of free marketing and the following are recommended, expecially if you have more time than money!

- Traffic Exchanges - advertise your Success University page in traffic exchanges. Learn more about Traffic Exchanges on my website. Remember that short splash pages work better in traffic exchanges than long sales letter style pages.

- Article Marketing - This is the best form of free advertising that I know of. Write an article of around 500 words or so in length related to the topic of Success University. You could write about business opportunities and making money, or you could write about motivation or being successful. Just make sure it is a topic that is relevant to Success University. If you don't want to write an article yourself I recommend getting one ghostwritten for you from Just Articles. Once you have your article written add a resource box to the end containing a link to your Success University signup page. Publish this article in as many article directories as possible and you'll gain additional traffic and exposure for months, or even years to come. - Forum Marketing - Many forums allow you to have a signature promoting your website or opportunity. Find some forums related to home business, internet marketing or even self improvement and make a commitment to post in these forums regularly. Just remember to ensure that you are contributing something useful and don't spam!
